Lean Six Sigma Consulting is a method that provides organizations tools to improve the capability of their business processes. This increase in performance and decrease in process variation helps lead to defect reduction and improvement in profits, employee morale, and quality of products or services.
“Six Sigma quality” is a term generally used to indicate a process is well controlled (within process limits ±3s from the centerline in a control chart, and requirements/tolerance limits ±6s from the centerline).
Lean Six Sigma is a methodology that combines Lean and Six Sigma principles to enhance performance by systematically removing waste and reducing variation. Lean focuses on eliminating non-value-adding processes (waste), while Six Sigma seeks to reduce process variation, thereby improving consistency and quality. The result is a powerful approach that drives operational excellence, increasing efficiency, improving quality, and boosting customer satisfaction
Lean Six Sigma uses a martial arts-inspired “belt” system to denote levels of certification and expertise. Starting from the Yellow Belt, indicating a deep understanding of specific aspects of Lean Six Sigma and often being part of a larger project team. Then comes the Green Belt, indicating individuals who manage Lean Six Sigma projects and are trained in the more detailed aspects of the methodology. Lastly, Black Belts are project leaders with a deep understanding of Lean Six Sigma, and they often mentor Green Belts. Each belt level signifies a different level of training, responsibility, and proficiency.
Currently one of our focus areas is providing Six Sigma implementation services. Over a period of time we have developed Six Sigma implementation methodology (SSIM) which ensures successful implementation of Six Sigma at our customers’ locations. As a matter of fact, our commitment to Six Sigma initiative is characterized by our in-depth involvement in implementation at customer sites in order to ensure success. Six Sigma is a business process that incorporates proven statistical and problem solving techniques focusing on the resolution of variation, cycle time and waste to significantly improve quality and time performance as well as reduce cost, to achieve manifold improvement. Specifically Six Sigma is designed to:
Our Six Sigma implementation methodology consists of the following 4 phases:
Six Sigma Deployment strategy and selection of projects and persons: We associate ourselves with the senior management and assist them in formulating deployment strategy and implementation plan.
After selecting suitable candidates from within the organization, Six Sigma Co-Ordinator’s, Black Belts and Green Belts are clearly defined. Through a very well defined methodology business goals of the organization are converted into potential Six Sigma projects which will provide substantial benefit to the organization.
Training: – we are responsible for selection of right projects, right persons to be the Black Belts, Green Belts and team members. we finalize Project Charter, resolve road blocks slowing down progress of a project and are responsible for success of the project.
Six Sigma awareness training: To ensure that the Six Sigma initiative becomes an integral part of the culture of the organization, all managers, supervisors, engineers, diploma holders, etc. are put through half-day Six Sigma awareness training. Such training ensures that all concerned persons in the organization have a common understanding of Six Sigma basic concepts, measurement and terminology. – Black Belt training: Black Belts are the persons selected to spearhead Six Sigma implementation, and they act as agents of change.
They are responsible for driving business results through application of Six Sigma tools and techniques. We provide training to the Black Belts in 4 phases spread over a period of 4 to 5 months. However, it is essential that each Black Belt candidate is assigned to a project before the training commences and works on the project in between two training modules. This methodology ensures immediate application of the tools learned during the training.
Consulting and hand holding for implementation of Six Sigma projects: To ensure that Six Sigma initiative is successful, our consultants carry out progress reviews between the various stages of the DMAIC process (Define , Measure , Analyze , Improve and Control).
In case any Black Belt is faced with a road block, it is resolved through hand holding. In case there is a need for some intervention by the senior management, appropriate information is provided to the concerned persons with a view to seeking escalation. This activity ensures that right tools are used and optimum results achieved.
